Visa for spouse and children under 18 to enter the UK
One of the problems of international students is being away from their families, the UK government has solved this problem by providing a visa service for spouses and children under 18 years of age. Your family (wife and children) can apply for entry and stay longer in England.
Your relatives and companions, a partner or dependent child can be one of the following:
- Your husband or wife
- Your unmarried partner
- Your child is under 18 – even if they were born during your stay in the UK.
You must provide evidence of your relationship with your spouse or children under the age of 18 when applying for a visa, for example:
- Certificate of marriage or civil partnership for your partner
- Your child’s birth certificate
Your course of study in England
If the date of your postgraduate course begins on January 1, 2024, it must include one of the following:
- (RQF Level 8) PhD or other research-based degree
- Postgraduate research degree
- Masters leading to PhD
Costs and money you need to study in England
In addition to your personal and educational expenses, you must be able to cover the expenses of your companions, so they must have some money available. This amount is in addition to your money and education expenses and your security expenses. The amount of money they need depends on where you study. They must have one of the following:
- £845 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses in London
- £680 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London
